Meet KC Sunshine Garza

We went to the Longmont Humane Society for a new dog. We found the perfect little puppy. She is an American Bulldog/Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. They say she is only 8 weeks old, but I think she is actually younger. Lucy wasn't too thrilled to have a baby sister. She whined and cried and ran away from the puppy. Lucy is also afraid of Tony's dwarf hamster, Petey.

We took the puppy home, walked her and Lucy together before entering the house, and then went to the backyard to romp and play.

Can't tell you how much money we spent just on dang toys!

After playing outside, the baby got a bath for the first time. She absolutely hated it! But now she has our smell.

Then she fell asleep on Tony's chest while he layed on the kitchen floor. It was so cute. I wonder if the crate is even going to be used?!?

How did we come up with her name? We drew names. I wanted Olive or Teensy. Marisa chose Marley or Copper. Danny chose Loki or Loki (yea...some imagination). Tony chose Misty or Kacey.

Kacey won! But, now we had to come up with an agreement as to spelling for her collar tags. Marisa didn't want 'Kacey' because it reminded her of Kacey Novak on Law and Order. I didn't want 'Kacey' because of Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way song. Danny broke out into singing "that's the way, uhuh, uhuh, I like it, uhuh, uhuh." And so, Kacey became KC with a middle name of Sunshine. Tada!
