Parties Are My Hobby

Went to my annual mammogram today. This is not one of my hobbies, but it leads to the title. Anyway, I was wearing my new Silpada necklace and earring rings. The imaging tech complimented the jewelry. When I started to tell her where I got it, we said 'Silpada' at the same time. Apparently, she and other ladies at the medical center rotate parties.

I started thinking of all the 'parties' my friends and I go to. Then, I started thinking that these parties are part of my hobby list.

I love:
Silpada jewelry parties
BeautiControl spa parties
Creative Memories crop nights/retreats (these are entire weekend parties!)
Pampered Chef cooking parties
Stampin' Up craft parties
...to name a few.

Fun, fun, fun!

April Storm

Crazy weather day! It rained, snowed, rained all day. There were high winds, too. Of course, the snow lasted just a short while since the temps were in the 40s. Danny found a leak in the roof over the garage. A few shingles are missing outside of Tony's window. (Seriously...the kids really need to stop sitting on the roof.)

I love flowers and flowering plants.

I have three of these lavender plants in the backyard.

The Iris...the entire front bed is full of these wonderful, aromatic flowers.

And, my all time favs: Texas Wildflowers...Bluebonnets & Indian Paintbrushes

Random Scrapbook Pages

I tried to take pictures of my scrapbook pages. They came out blurry, but more importantly, we had such a great time in the mountains! Our group goes twice a year to the mountains. We love our visits to our friends here! Here are a few pages (sorry for the blur):

This is a page of Tony 'helping' Danny with the pergola last year. Marisa pitched in by purusing her yearbook.

KC was under foot and watched Danny build the pergola also!

Marisa's golf page.

Tony's Confirmation page.

One of my wedding pages.

Vacation With Teens

When the kids were small, and could be controlled, we went home to Texas for vacations. This year, with a 16- and 15-year old, we had to spice up the anty abit. Yes, we are still going home to Texas, but we are also taking them to not 1, but 2 Vans Warped Tour Concerts! (http://www.vanswarpedtour.com/warpedtour/index.asp)

My friends, you remember those "Texas Jams", right? Or, maybe you don't! Well, these warped tours are the new "Jams". Danny's game, so he will take them. Last year Marisa got her picture taken with several bands. Over the months following last year's tour, pictures of my son acting silly appeared. I won't post those for fear of gossip fodder, but you get my point.

Our second family vacation this year will be to Las Vegas! And, yes, the kids are going with us. We are going to the Sony Fanfare again. Everyone is excited about this one. We'll be staying at Bally's.

We are also planning a few weekenders in the mountains. I'm so looking forward to our trips.

So Ghetto....So What!

For the second time in my life, I ran out of gas as I pulled up into the driveway. The first time, Danny was so mad at me! But this time, my kids were with me. Tony got the little red plastic container that we use to gas up the lawn mower. Luckily (for me) there was gas in it! Just enough to get me in the driveway. It was raining, of course. And, just as Tony started filling my gas tank, it started to hail. Marisa was laughing, saying "This is so ghetto! Mom, this is ghetto! We look ghetto!" And, I say, SO WHAT!
